Yokohama Municipal Buses
Around 800 buses run on around 140 routes within Yokohama City.
Route search/timetables
This allows you to search for routes to your destination or confirm timetables for each bus stop. If you do not know the name of your intended bus stop, you can also search using the name of a facility at your destination, etc. It also includes a function which displays real-time information on buses by route.

Fares
There is a flat fare for municipal buses. Adults: 220 yen/Children: 110 yen
*Children: From 1 year to under 12 years of age (elementary school children and under)
*Fares on line 40 are calculated by distance.
One Day Pass
This great-value ticket, valid for a single day, allows you to get on and off busses as much as you like. You can purchase these tickets using IC (including mobile) inside the bus. You can also use the smartphone app "my route" to purchase tickets 24 hours a day, anywhere.

Adults: 600 yen/Children: 300 yen
◯One-day subway and bus pass
Adults: 830 yen/Children: 420 yen
Commuter passes (work/school)
You can use commuter passes on all Yokohama Municipal Bus services (excluding the sightseeing bus Akai Kutsu).

◯What Municipal Buses look like
Municipal Buses are cream-colored, with blue horizontal lines.
*Some buses look different, such as the sightseeing bus Akai Kutsu.

◯Destination display
The line number and destination are displayed at the front and back of the vehicle and next to the entrance.
Not every bus stop along the route is displayed, so if in doubt please ask the driver when you board the bus.
The next bus stop is displayed inside the bus at the front.
Also, there is an external speaker located next to the entrance. This speaker plays an automated message announcing the destination.

〇How to board buses
Please use the front door to get on the bus and the rear door to get off the bus. You need to pay the fare when getting on the bus.
〇Payment of the fare
・Transportation IC (including mobile)
You can use PASMO, Suica, and other nationwide transportation IC(includingmobile) Simply touch the card to the reader and the fare will be automatically deducted.
You can charge your card inside the bus. However, to ensure a trouble-free ride for all, we request that you charge your card before boarding. You can also charge your card at train stations, convenience stores, and supermarkets. (Stores that accept PASMO/Suica)
・Cash
Please put the money in the fare slot. Change will be automatically given to you.
If you are boarding with a stroller
If you have a child in a stroller, you can use Yokohama Municipal Bus services with the child in the stroller.
Please make sure to fasten the stroller's seatbelt around your child and use the wheel stoppers.
For safety reasons, please make sure to secure the stroller with the provided belt and support it with your hand while riding the bus.
To prevent possible hazards, please follow the instructions of the bus driver.
If you leave something on the bus
Lost property is kept at the bus depot running the bus service you rode on.
Please call Yokohama City Call Center (045-664-2525).
If you left or dropped something a bus terminal etc., please contact a police station.
Substitute transport service (when trains etc. are not running)
Yokohama Municipal Buses provide a substitute transport service to railway companies with whom the City has entered into an agreement.Depending on the section that is not in operation,please note that substitute transport may not be available in some areas. Please use substitute transport on the instructions of the railway company in question.
◯How to use substitute transport
If using a PASMO or Suica IC card (charged balance) when riding trains
These cards cannot be used for substitute transport.
If you have a train ticket or commuter pass for the substituted areas
Please receive a substitute transport ticket at the train station, and place it in the fare box inside the bus.
If you need to change buses, please tell the driver and show your substitute transport ticket. Please note that if you were unable to obtain a substitute transport ticket because the train station was crowded or for some other reason, you can still use substitute transport if you show your train ticket or commuter pass for the substituted areas to the bus driver.

Yokohama Municipal Subway
There are two lines on the Yokohama Municipal Subway: the Blue Line, which connects the central Yokohama area, such as Yokohama Station and Sakuragicho Station, with the northern and southern areas of Yokohama; and the Green Line, which connects with other railway lines in an east-west direction from the northern New Town area.

How to use Yokohama Municipal Subway
◯Purchasing tickets
Please purchase tickets at a ticket machine. These sell tickets, one day passes, PASMO, and commuter passes.
◯Enter via a ticket gate
Use your ticket or PASMO, Suica and other transportation system IC cards to enter via a ticket gate displaying an arrow.

Substitute transport service
◯When other trains etc. are not running,
Yokohama Municipal Subway provides a substitute transport service to railway companies with whom the City has entered into an agreement. Please note that substitute transport may not be available in some areas. Please use substitute transport on the instructions of the railway company in question.
◯When Yokohama Municipal Subway is not running
In the event there is a problem on an area of line for which you have already bought a ticket (commuter pass or regular ticket) and it is expected to take some time before services are up and running again, you can use your ticket to take a detour on a route specified as an alternative means of transport (a nearby train line of a different train company or a bus). Please confirm before using, as the areas in which your ticket is valid may vary.
